School Closure Provision

23 March 2020 (by admin)

Dear Parents,

Following even more information received over the weekend, I am increasingly concerned about our ability to keep your children safe in school. We are unable to keep them apart as per government guidelines and this is a huge worry for us. Every piece of advice we have received tells us that children need to be kept at home unless there is absolutely no other choice. The only children who should be in school are those whose parents work is critical to the COVID-19 response.

Is there anyone who can keep your child safe at home? Are you working at home? Can a friend or family member who is not in a front line job, or who does not have any underlying health concerns, look after your child? There are children who are in school today who are telling us that they have parents who are working at home, if this is the case please do not send your child to school.

I am hugely concerned about the increased risk we are placing on our children and my staff.

Children who are in school will not be taught. Staff will only be supporting the homework packs that have been prepared by teachers and providing child care. I am only expecting a small number of staff to be in school each day, the rest will be working from home.

On behalf of myself and my Chair of Governors, please do your very best to help us in this very serious situation.

Yours sincerely

Mrs J Lumsdon

Mr Mr K Bartley (Chair of Governors)
