After School Club & Breakfast Club

At Castletown Primary School, we offer additional 'wrap around' facilities for children, particularly to support working parents, from 7.45am until 5.30pm.

Breakfast Club

School Breakfast Club starts at 7:45am every morning. Places are available at a cost of £2:00 per session.

If you would like to to take advantage of this service please contact the school office to book a place. Breakfast club requests and payments should be paid to the office on a Friday for the following week.

For safety reasons, pupils attending breakfast club must be dropped off at the school office to then be signed in by Breakfast Club staff. Please do not drop children off at the school gate. Thank you.

At Breakfast Club children are offered a substantial breakfast:

  • Juice, cereals and toast every day.

An additional choice every day from the following options:

  • Pancakes / waffles with syrup
  • Eggs on toast
  • Bagel with cream cheese
  • Sausage sandwiches
  • Cheese toasties
  • Yoghurts

After School Club

Our After School Club runs from 3:30pm to 5:30pm at a cost of £6:00. Pupils can also attend for one hour only (3:30pm 4:30pm) at a cost of £3:00.

Pupils will be provided with a tea and activities during this time. If you would like to take advantage of our after school offer please contact the school office.

Before a child can stay at After School Club, parents must complete a registration form available from the main office. Wherever possible, requests and payments should be brought into school on Monday morning for that week. Bookings need to be made on a weekly basis. Office staff then compile a register for the week which is sent to all classes on a Monday afternoon. Teachers are then aware of exactly who will be staying at After School Club each day from their class. Children staying at After School Club will be collected from their classrooms by a member of staff.

We are aware that unexpected circumstances can sometimes mean that parents need to ring during the week to request additional places however we must stress that this should only be in exceptional circumstances and should not be happening on a regular basis. When a phone call is received, office staff will go straight to the class teacher to inform them of the change to the After School Club register.

After School Club offers a variety of activities i.e. film nights, games nights, sporting activities and craft nights.

Payments

All cash payments should be in envelopes clearly marked with your child’s name, class and the days you require either breakfast club or OOSC provision. This helps to provide an audit trail on the rare occasion where payments may go missing. Children should not be bringing money into school on a daily basis to pay for these provisions. Payments can be left at the school office or can be sent into school with a child (please make sure the child is aware that they have an envelope with them to ensure it is handed in at the correct time – teachers will not look in book bags for payments).
