Over the past two weeks we have begun delivering our check-in service with the families and young people we have been supporting in your school and have already had positive feedback on this service from many of you.
Furthermore, we have been working collaboratively with a number of partners to enhance our services digitally during this period.
For children and young people aged 10-18 years there are three partners we are working with, with each service being offered free of charge as a Place2Be partner:
1. ThinkNinja: this is an app-based service, which can be downloaded. The app is guided by a ‘WiseNinja’, which is an automated virtual assistant, built on artificial intelligence and replicating a clinical psychologist. The app provides psychoeducation on mental health and emotional wellbeing along with coaching tips for staying well and handling stress. More information can be found via the link below:
2. Kooth: is an online service which offers online counselling and wellbeing support. Young people aged 10-18 years can sign up to this service online, selecting Place2Be from the drop down menu. The service offers a range of therapeutic tools and activities and is opened 365 days a year (currently from 12-10pm weekdays and 6-10pm at weekends, though this is currently being reviewed). This is an anonymous service, everything is pre-moderated and confidential. All the counsellors are trained, qualified and experienced working with young people. 3. Shout: we have partnered with Shout, a free 24-hour crisis text service for over 18 months. This service is primarily aimed for students aged 10 years plus and is delivered by a team of crisis volunteers. Place2Be schools and their students can text P2B to 85258 24 hours a day.
